Was named the Historic Hotel of the Year for 2008 by Icomos (the International Council on Monuments and Sites). While the “superior” rooms have a newer décor, many rooms have fittings more than 50 years old; some have original bathrooms, with plumbing from 1900. Be aware that no rooms have television. Prices for double rooms half-board, with large south-facing balcony, from £146.
