Chiang Rai''s grand old 1970s hotel, now getting on in the years, but some rooms have been renovated and are looking reasonably up to date. Very conveniently located, but not really an ideal family hotel as is surrounded by massage parlours and bars. Glum shady pool, mediocre breakfast buffet, cavernous foyer. Cheapest rate rooms are not advertised, you must request "anything cheaper?" at the front desk. Airport transfer 100 baht.
